Cats look to capture first road win of season.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (October 22, 1998) — The University of Kentucky Rifle Team hopes tocapture its first road victory when it travels to Alabama this weekend to faceJacksonville State.
The Wildcats (1-1) are coming off of a loss to Murray State University lastSunday. Last Saturday the Cats defeated Ohio State in their home opener inLexington.
The Cats are led by senior Mary Elsass, who is a three time All-American inboth smallbore and air rifle. Last weekend, Elsass finished first in air rifle andsecond in smallbore against Murray State.
“Jacksonville State is a very respected team that finished fifth at the NCAATournament last year,” Coach Harry Mullins said. “Theyve put up someimpressive numbers already this season, but if we go down there and workhard I know we can win.”
