Jonas Liening will
miss the remainder of
the season with a fractured leg.

 

Liening Sustains Leg Fracture, Out for Season: Senior offensivetackle Jonas Liening sustained a fractured fibula in his left leg duringthe Georgia game on Saturday. He is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday.He will miss the remainder of the regular season. Liening has been afour-year starter in the UK offensive line, starting all 38 games inwhich he has played during his career. Ironically, Liening also suffereda broken left leg in the Georgia game in 1996 and missed the final threegames of that season. Liening’s current fracture is unrelated to hisprevious injury.

Additional monitoring of Saturday’s injuries has revealed thatreserve linebacker Gus Jacobs has a torn knee ligament. He will havereconstructive surgery and miss the remainder of the season. Widereceiver Quentin McCord has a high ankle sprain and is expected to beout for 3-4 weeks. He might be able to return for the Tennessee game.Reserve cornerback Kenneth Grant has been cleared to practice afterX-rays of his injured hand were negative.
