Player in Voluntary Workouts: The Wildcats football players arein voluntary strength and conditioning workouts this week under theguidance of assistant strength coach Brett Brungardt. Most of theplayers have been participating, according to Brungardt. Mandatoryworkouts begin Mon. Feb. 1.
Anthony White Makes Elite NCAA List: UK halfback Anthony Whiteis one of only 19 players in Division I-A history who have reached the1,000-yard mark in rushing and receiving in a career, according toresearch by the NCAA.
White has 1,196 rushing yards and 1,051 receiving yards as aWildcat. With his senior season to come in 1999, White can add to thosetotals. A realistic goal would be the 1,500-yard mark in rushing andreceiving. Only two players in I-A history, Stanford’s Darrin Nelsonand Brad Muster, have reached the 1,500-yard mark in each category.
