Kentucky Travels to Ole Miss for Friday Night Contest
OXFORD, Miss. – In just its third road match of the season, Kentucky (9-4-1, 3-2-1 SEC) will travel to Oxford to face off against Ole Miss (4-6-1, 0-5-1 SEC) on Friday, October 10. Kickoff from Ole Miss Soccer Stadium is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET and the match will be streamed live on SEC Network +.
The Wildcats are looking to bounce back after only claiming one of six available points in matches last week—drawing Florida 1-1 in Gainesville before falling to No. 24 Vanderbilt, 2-1, at home.
Sophomore Alexis Tylenda scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season in Sunday’s match against the Commodores, bringing her career total to 10 goals scored. Tylenda is one of two Wildcats with double-digit career goals scored, joining senior Catherine Rapp who has amassed 13 career goals, including five this year.
Freshman goalkeeper Khadijah Cissé was recently called up to play for Canada at the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. The tournament is set to be held in Rabat, Morocco from October 17-November 8.
Kentucky currently sits tied for sixth in the Southeastern Conference table with ten points. Kentucky’s three conference wins this season have already tied the most in a single year under fourth-year head coach Troy Fabiano, with both the 2023 and 2024 squads amassing a 3-3-4 conference record.
The Wildcats currently lead the country in a pair of offensive categories—corner kicks per game and penalty kicks drawn. Kentucky is averaging 8.64 tries from the corner flag per match and has drawn nine penalties this season—with midfielder Tanner Strickland responsible for six of them herself.
Ole Miss enters Friday’s contest on a five-match losing streak in conference play, with all five defeats coming at the hands of ranked opponents. Ole Miss leads the all-time series 14-11-1, with the Rebels winning both contests in the Fabiano era. Kentucky is looking for its first win in the series since a 4-2 victory in Oxford in 2015.
Kentucky will return to Lexington for its final home match of the season, hosting No. 10 South Carolina at 7:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, October 16. Admission to all 2025 Kentucky Soccer regular season home matches will be free to the public.
