LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky women’s soccer team (4-3-0, 0-0-0 SEC) is set to SEC play as they play host to Texas A&M (4-3-0, 0-0-0 SEC) on Friday, September 11 at the Bell Soccer Complex. The matchup will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be available to stream on the SEC Network +.

Friday’s match will commemorate 9/11, remembering and honoring all that serve our country for Heroes and First Responders Day. Fans can also receive a soccer exclusive Kentucky scarf upon arrival.

The Aggies own the all-time series record against the Wildcats, with the Wildcats going 1-8-2 dating back to 1999. However, the most recent battle between the two teams was dominated by Kentucky. Last season, the Wildcats defeated the Aggies on the road 3-0. Goalkeeper Megan Holland recorded her first career shutout with four and three different goalscorers each contributed to the conference win.

Entering Friday’s matchup, the Wildcats have earned a 4-3-0 record on the season. Last time out at The Bell, Kentucky fell 2-1 to Bowling Green at home despite two-time SEC Freshman of the Week Kyla Dawn finding the back of the net off a feed from Michelle Moskau. Holland posted a career-high five saves against the Falcons.

So far this campaign, the Wildcats have been an offensive force, totaling 28 goals on 130 shots. Kentucky is tied with Vanderbilt for the best scoring offense in the conference, good for fourth in the nation. The team also ranks in the top-10 nationally in six other key categories: corner kicks per game (2nd SEC, 9th NCAA, 8.57), goal differential (3rd SEC, 8th NCAA, 19), points per game (3rd SEC, 10th NCAA, 10.14), shots on goal per game (2nd SEC, 10th NCAA, 9.57), total goals (2nd SEC, 3rd NCAA, 28) and total points (3rd SEC, 8th NCAA, 71).

Freshman Kyla Dawn currently leads the SEC in shot accuracy (3rd NCAA, 0.750). The Dallas native heads the team in overall points (18), goals (8), assists (2) and shots on goal (12), ranking among the best in the country through seven games.

The Aggies also own a 4-3-0 record on the season. The team is coming off a 4-0 home victory over SFA on Sept. 6, with the Aggies outshooting the Ladyjacks 33-2 and recording their second shutout of the season.

The Wildcats aim to kickoff the busy sports weekend for UK Athletics in winning fashion on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Bell Soccer Complex.
