Summer Sessions in Transition: The four-week summer school session endedTuesday, June 8. The eight-week summer school session begins Thursday,June 10. The majority of the players will be in Lexington during theeight-week session in order to work out in the weight room, work summerjobs, and/or take summer school classes. The eight-week period ends onAugust 5.

Coaches Prepare for Camp: The Kentucky football coaching staff ispreparing for the UK summer camps, which begin on Wednesday, June 9.

Commonwealth Stadium Construction Update: Construction crews havecompleted the installation of structural steel and most of the concretework on the upper concourses is complete. The aluminum seating isapproximately 75 percent complete. Wall framing continues on both ends anddrywall work has begun on the east end. Precast concrete panels have beeninstalled on the east end and are in progress on the west end. Work alsohas begun on the installation of the scoreboards.

Both ends of Commonwealth Stadium are being enclosed. The project willadd about 10,000 seats, bringing capacity to approximately 68,000. Up to$27.6 million may be spent on the stadium expansion, which is expected tobe ready for the opening of the 1999 season.

Watch the Stadium Construction: Fans may view photographs of the stadiumexpansion on the internet site www.uky.edu/stadium. A camera has beenmounted in the press box and is pointed toward the west (NicholasvilleRoad) end zone. Photographs are updated every five minutes.
