Bear Bryant Reunion to be held this week.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Bryant Reunion June 24-26: The reunion of former football players who played for Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant will be held June 24-26 in Lexington.

There are several activities surrounding the Bryant Reunion, including a return to the campus on Friday. On Friday afternoon, the players and their wives will tour the campus, followed by a tour of the Commonwealth Stadium expansion. After the tours, the players and their wives will enjoy a cookout at the K-Association House at 6:15 p.m.

John Griggs, captain of the 1952 team, once again is in charge of the reunion, which is held every two years. Additional reunion committee members include Chuck Bell, Nell Ferrell, Wallace “Wah Wah” Jones, Lou Karibo, Gene Meeks, Steve Meilinger, Mary Preston, Babe Ray, Harry Rogers, Dick Rushing, George Sengel, and Ben Zaranka.

Players in Summer School, Workouts: The eight-week summer school session began June 10. The majority of the players are in Lexington during the eight-week session in order to work out in the weight room, work summer jobs, and/or take summer school classes. The eight-week period ends on August 5.

Coaches Working Camps: The Kentucky football coaching staff is working the UK summer football camps through June 27.

Mumme Speaking Engagements in Northern Kentucky, Maysville: Coach Hal Mumme has two alumni club speaking engagements on Monday, June 21. Mumme will speak to the Northern Kentucky UK Alumni Club at a luncheon at the Marriott Rivercenter at 11:30 a.m. Mumme will speak to the Mason County UK Alumni Club at 6 p.m. at the Limestone Center in Maysville.
