ATHENS, Ga. – The 18th-ranked University of Kentucky women’s tennis team fell, 8-1, to No. 3 Georgia on Saturday, March 20. Sophomore Brooke Skeen picked up the lone win for the Cats, topping UGA’s Zoe Mellis, 6-1, 6-1.
“Georgia used an interesting lineup today,” UK Coach Mark Guilbeau said. “But our players handled the situation very well. We played top-notch tennis, but still need to improve emotionally and mentally to get over that hump and break into the top 10.”
UK returns to the court on Friday, March 26, when intrastate rival Louisville travels to Lexington for a 5 p.m. dual match.
