LEXINGTON, Ky.-The men and women’s cross country teams head to New York this Saturday, Sept. 26, to compete in the fourth annual Meet of Champions, hosted by Iona College.
Other nationally-ranked teams attending the meet are No. 3 Dartmouth and No. 14 Wake Forest in the women’s division.
In last weekend’s Old Timer’s Classic, both Wildcat teams finished fourth.
Run at Van Cortlandt Park, the women’s 5K race will begin at 10:30 a.m., and the men’s 5-mile race is scheduled for 11:15 a.m.
In the men’s competition, teams include the Air Force, Army, Connecticut, Dartmouth, Fordham, Harvard, Kansas, Long Island University, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Rutgers, Siena, St. Joseph’s, St. Peter’s, Stony Brook, US Merchant Marine, and host, Iona, which is ranked No. 15 nationally.
The 20-team field for the women’s competition includes the Air Force, Army, Dartmouth, Delaware, Fordham, Harvard, Kansas, Long Island University, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Penn State, Princeton, Siena, St. Joseph’s, St. Peter’s, Stony Brook, US Merchant Marine, Wake Forest, and host Iona.
