The Lady Kat golfers finished the first round of the Memphis Womens Intercollegiate Golf Championship Sunday tied in 10th place after shooting a team total of 311.

Freshman Towa Okiyama is leading UKs team in eighth place. She shot a 3-over-par 75 on the first day. Other Lady Kat scores include Jenny Throgmortons 76, Jenny Dugans 79, Kristen Pepes 81, and Chanda Days 85.

First-place team Mississippi is only six strokes over par, shooting a team-total of 294 on the first day of the tournament. Three golfers are tied for first place: Ole Misss Robyn Rinaldo, Purdues Angela Blythe and host Memphiss Natalie Tucker. All three shot par-72s in the first round.
