LEXINGTON, Ky. — The UK baseball team (12-17, 4-8 SEC) will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., to face the Razorbacks of Arkansas (23-12, 9-3 SEC) for a three-game seriesbeginning on Friday, April 9, at 6:30 p.m. CT.

Friday’s matchup will be the 19th meeting between the two schools. Theteams first met in 1989 and the series is tied at nine-all. UK won lastyear’s meeting in Lexington, beating Arkansas in two out of three games asthe Wildcats clawed their way into the SEC Tournament.

Kentucky has won three straight games and four of the last five. TheWildcats won their first SEC series last weekend, defeating Georgia in twoout of three games. UK won midweek games against Eastern Kentucky, 8-3, andOhio University, 12-6.

Several Wildcats have been on an offensive tear recently. Junior AaronMcGlone has hit four home runs in the last three games and sophomore JohnWilson has hit ten home runs in the past nine games. Junior Breck Price hasreached base safely in 20 of the last 21 baseball games.

Kentucky’s pitching continues to get stronger as the season progresses.Junior Ben Shaffar leads the team with 66 strikeouts in 51.2 inningspitched and sophomore Brandon Webb has thrown two complete games in hislast three outings.
