Strength Award Winners Named for 1997: Two seniors from the 1997 Kentucky football team have won awards for their work in the weight room, UK strength coach Rob Oviatt has announced. Offensive guard John Schlarman won the “Mr. Wildcat” award, which represents the team’s overall champion for speed, strength, and power in relation to position played and body size. Cornerback Littleton Ward was named to the All-America Strength Team by the National Strength Coaches Association. Players earn a spot on the All-America Strength Team for overall strength in relation to body size.
