WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The University of Kentucky volleyball team (3-1) placed second in the Mortar Board Purdue Premier Invitational Saturday by defeating Central Florida 15-9, 15-8, 15-9 and falling to host-Purdue 10-15, 5-15, 7-15.

UK junior Katie Eiserman had a solid performance against Central Florida as she connected for 17 kills, nine digs, three service aces and a .483 hitting percentage in the afternoon match. Senior middle blocker Jenny Muzzey recorded 12 kills and six digs against Knights.

In the evening match against Purdue (3-0), the Wildcats were led by Eiserman with 10 kills and a .320 hitting percentage. Junior Jaclyn Homan also contributed offensively, notching six kills and a .400 hitting percentage on the night.

“We came in here with the idea of learning more about ourselves as a team,” UK coach Jona Braden said. “We played very hard and competed for every sideout and point. We saw many good, solid moments. Our sideout offense just wasnt as strong as it needed to be in the last match.”

Senior LaTanya Webb and junior Katie Eiserman were both named to the All-Tournament team.
