The Kentucky women’s basketball team will play its last home game of the season when it plays host to in-state rival Eastern Kentucky at 7 p.m., in Memorial Coliseum tonight.

UK is looking to capture its second straight victory after defeating Mississippi State 71-62 on Sunday. The Wildcats (12-13, 5-9) have won four more games than the previous two years and are on track to garner their first winning record since the 1993-94 season when they finished 17-11. Eastern Kentucky enters tonight’s game 18-5 overall and 14-2 in the Ohio Valley Conference. UK leads the all-time series against the Lady Colonels 20-8 despite losing in Richmond last season 67-62. UK junior Jaye Barnes leads the Wildcats, averaging 14.5 points per game. Junior Tiffany Wait and freshman Laura Meadows also average double figures with 11.2 and 11.1 points per game respectively. Former Wildcat Chrissy Roberts leads the way for EKU, averaging 15.3 points per game. Roberts, who led the nation last season in three-point shooting percentage (48.8 percent), also leads the team in assists (105) and steals (52). Tonight’s game marks the first non-conference game UK has played since it faced Louisville on Jan. 21 in Freedom Hall.
