LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s soccer team will open its 1998 regular season campaign Tuesday, September 1, as it travels to Cincinnati to take on the UC Bearcats.

The game, scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Meyers Field, will be the first of the season for both squads. Last season, the two regional rivals battled to a 1-1 overtime tie. The Wildcats finished the 1997 season with a 12-7-2 mark, while the Bearcats finished up at 7-8-3. Coach Ian Collins expects a battle for the Wildcats.

“Cincinnati is a tough opening match for us. They are a good team and they always play well against us. It will be a good test for our team. I’m looking forward to it.”
