Aaron McGlone drove in two runs and Brandon Webb struck out ten batters, but the Kentucky Wildcats (17-24, 7-13 SEC) could not overcome four errors and lost to the Tennessee Volunteers, 8-4, on Saturday at Cliff Hagan Stadium.

UK scored one run in the first as Andy Green led off the inning with a single. Vince Harrison grounded out but advanced Green to second, and Green took third on Jamie Bennetts wild pitch. McGlone doubled down the left field line to Green and give Kentucky a 1-0 lead.

The Vols responded with two runs in the second and three in the third as UK committed two crucial errors to give UT the lead. Tennessee continued the barrage, adding one run in the sixth, eighth, and ninth innings as the Wildcats increased their error total to four in the game.

Kentucky battled in the eighth inning, chipping into the Tennessee lead by scoring three runs as Harrison and Wilson doubled and Will Crumbaugh tripled to bring UK to within four runs. But the Wildcats could not catch the Vols and lost the second game of the series, 8-4.

UK and UT (22-23, 5-15) will finish the weekend on Sunday, April 25, at Cliff Hagan Stadium. The game is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Nathan Kent, the reigning SEC Pitcher of the Week, will take the mound for Kentucky, looking to pick up his third consecutive win and his fourth of the season.
