COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team had a tough day on Saturday at the Lady Gamecock Classic, as the Cats droppedfour singles matches.

In “A” flight singles, 56th-ranked Baili Camino of Florida downed UK’sMassoumeh Emami 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, while 88th-ranked Celine Regnier of SouthCarolina edged the Wildcat’s Kelly Brown, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

In the “B” flight, two Cats faced off as Christy Sigurski defeated Shannon Stafford 6-2, 6-2. Brooke Skeen of Kentucky also fell in “B” singles, 6-4, 6-2, to Anne Marie Milton of Wake Forest.

“C” flight singles saw UK’s Shannon Stafford win by default over Shir Noy of Clemson, while UK’s Jackie Spicijaric aggravated an injury and wasforced to retire in her match against Lea Miller of Wake Forest.

Play in the Gamecock Classic concludes tomorrow.
