LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s soccer team faces its firstSoutheastern Conference opponent on Friday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. againstAlabama at the UK Soccer Complex.
Kentucky (1-0-1) defeated Ohio 3-1 on Sunday, as All-SEC candidateCarrieStaber led the Cats with a goal and an assist.
Alabama (0-3-0) fell to Baylor, 2-1, on Sunday. Defender TiffanyCarle andmidfielder Leah Formby have scored the Tide’s only two goals on the season.
Friday is “Mother/Daugher Night.” If a mother accompanies herdaughter tothe game, Mom gets in for only $2.
On Sunday, the Cats kick off against Auburn at home at 1:30 p.m. ina gamethat will be televised live on Fox Sports South. The Tigers (1-2-0) arecoming off a 2-0 win against Wyoming. Forward Jill Palmer leads Auburn withtwo goals on the season.
Sunday will be Nike Day, and anyone wearing anything by Nike,containingthe word Nike or the swoosh gets in the game for only $1. Also, any fanwith a UK-EKU football ticket stub gets in for $1.
At both games, the first 50 UK students get free UK soccer t-shirts.
