John Wilson hit three home runs and had five RBI in the game, but theKentucky Wildcats (9-17, 3-8 SEC) gave up a home run in the top of theeleventh inning and lost to the Georgia Bulldogs (14-15, 3-7 SEC), 9-8.

Georgia jumped out to an early lead, scoring three runs in the secondinning and two runs in the third.

But the Wildcats battled back and chipped into the Bulldog lead, scoringtwo runs in the fourth on Wilson’s first home run of the game. Kentuckyadded three runs in the fifth as Wilson homered for the second time in thegame and Aaron McGlone drove in Beau Moore with a sacrifice fly.

Kentucky entered the ninth inning down two runs. McGlone walked to leadoff the inning and advanced to second on an error by pitcher Tim Fries.Wilson hit his third homer of the game to tie the game, 8-8.

With two outs in the top of the eleventh inning, catcher Doc Brooks hit ahome run over the left field wall to give the Dawgs the lead, 9-8. Despitea late rally by the Cats in the eleventh, they could not catch Georgia andlost 9-8.

Wilson extended his hitting streak to 14 games and freshman Vince Harrisonhas reached base safely in nine consecutive games.

Kentucky and Georgia will finish the series Sunday, April 4, at 2 p.m. atCliff Hagan Stadium. Sophomore Brandon Webb will take the mound as Kentuckytries to take the rubber game of the series.
