A legendary hoops matchup of the 1996 NCAA Champions vs. the1998 NCAA Champions will tip off at 7:30 p.m. on July 10 at Rupp Arena.

Nearly 13,000 tickets have been sold for the event, which willpit the former Wildcats against one another in this reunion battle thatpromises to feature a number of current NBA stars that played theircollege careers at the University of Kentucky.

The Game, which benefits the UK Basketball Museum and the DerekAnderson Foundation, will be a regulation college game as the respectiveteams battle for bragging rights.

Scheduled to participate are Anderson, Anthony Epps, Tony Delk,Walter McCarty, Ron Mercer, Mark Pope and Antoine Walker for the 1996team, and Allen Edwards, Heshimu Evans, Cameron Mills, Nazr Mohammed,Scott Padgett, Jeff Sheppard and Wayne Turner for the 1998 team. DanIssel and Louie Dampier, former Cats now with the Denver Nuggets, willcoach the ’96 squad while Tubby Smith’s coaching staff will lead the ’98team.
