Wildcats Go Three-A-Day on Monday: The Kentucky football teampracticed two hours Monday morning and Monday afternoon at NutterTraining Center and has a one-hour workout scheduled for Monday night atCommonwealth Stadium.

Three players who have been missing practice were able to returnto the field — junior offensive guard Aaron Daniel (sore back), juniorkicker Seth Hanson (strained quadriceps muscle), and freshman tight endBobby Blizzard (stomach virus).

Beginning Tuesday, the team may put on the pads and Coach HalMumme had these observations on the team’s progress following Mondayafternoon’s practice:

“(Quarterback) Dusty Bonner is looking sharp and the offense isstarting to look good. He completed 79 percent today against thefirst-team defense.”

“We’re starting to watch various positions to see if everyone isworking well together – for instance, are we throwing the curl route thesame way to every receiver, are the offensive linemen working togetherto pick up the twists and blitzes, and so on.”

“I think we’ll get a lot of production out of our tight ends thisseason. All four of them (James Whalen, Chase Harp, Derek Smith, andBobby Blizzard) are good team guys and all will find their niche in thisoffense. This is the first time in my coaching career that we’ve hadthis many big guys who can play tight end. In the past, we’ve taken alot of wide receivers and skinny tackles and tried to make tight endsout of them.”

“Coach Morriss (offensive line coach Guy Morriss) said he is startingto narrow the list of the seven guys who will play a lot. Right now itlooks like Aaron Daniel and Keith Chatelain along with the five who havebeen working with the first unit (Matt Brown, Kip Sixbery, NolanDeVaughn, Josh Parrish, and Omar Smith).”
