LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s soccer team dropped its first match ofthe season on Sunday, falling 1-0 to ninth-ranked Cal State Fullerton inthe final of the 1999 Kentucky Invitational at the UK Soccer Complex.
UK attacked Fullerton throughout the match but could not find the netsdespite holding a 15-10 shot advantage.
The Titans’ David Dischner tallied the match’s lone goal in the 67thminute on a one-on-one with UK keeper Brian O’Leary.
With the win, Fullerton improves to 6-0, while the Cats fall to 4-1.
On a lighter note for the Cats, UK’s Rob Frey, Lee Baker and Ilkka Janttiwere named to the KIT All-Tournament Team for their outstanding play overthe weekend.
UK next returns to the pitch on Wednesday, when the Cats travel to BowlingGreen to face intra-state rival Western Kentucky.
