LEXINGTON, Kty. – The University of Kentucky women’s soccer team will play host to theTennessee Volunteers on Friday, Sept. 24, at the UK Soccer Complex. Theshowdown between two of the top teams in the SEC Eastern Division begins at7 p.m.

UK (4-2-1, 1-1 SEC) will put its three-game winning streak on the line,coming off a 3-0 victory over visiting Dayton on Sept. 19. The Cats, rankedfourth in the Great Lakes Region top 10 and as high as 28th nationally,have not allowed a goal in the last two games.

Sophomore forward Annie Gage has played a major role in the winningstreak. Gage scored a goal and had an assist in UK’s 3-0 win over Marshalland added two goals and an assist against Dayton. She is tied for second inthe SEC with four assists.

Also aiding the Cats’ cause is freshman forward Elizabeth Ramsey. Ramseyis one of the top newcomers in the SEC and leads UK in goals (5) and points(13).

“This is a big weekend for our kids starting with Tennessee on Friday,” UKcoach Warren Lipka said. “Conference games are always important, and weneed to come out and make a strong statement early in the match.”

Tennessee (3-4, 2-0 SEC) is mired in a three-game losing streak afterlanding a national top-25 ranking earlier in the month. The Vols have onlyscored one goal in their last three contests. UT picked up two SECvictories at home in the first weekend of conference play, a 5-1 victoryover Auburn and a 3-1 upset win of Alabama.

UT is led by forwards Allison Campbell and Laura Lauter. Campbell is theteam leader in shots (31), assists (3), points (9), and is tied for themost goals with three. Lauter has taken 27 shots and two of Lauter’s goalshave been game-winning scores.

UK has never lost to the Vols in three matches, including a 3-1 win inKnoxville last fall.

The Cats will play host to 12th-ranked Georgia on Sunday at 1 p.m.
