LEXINGTON, Kty. – Macon White, a member of the University of Kentucky men’s swimming team,was named the Southeastern Conference Men’s Swimmer of the Week today bythe SEC office.
White, a junior native of Huntington, W. Va., swam his best unshaved timein the 200-yard freestyle last Saturday, en route to UK’s 137-103 victoryover USC. White’s time of 1:38.75 met the NCAA “B” time standard of 1:39.28and is the second fastest time ever swam at UK in the event. White holdsthe team record in the 200 freestyle.
“We are really excited for Macon, and he is very deserving of this award,”UK coach Gary Conelly said.
