LEXINGTON, Kty. — University of Kentucky sophomore gymnast Jennifer Simmons is out for the rest of the 2000 season due to a broken right ankle suffered in practice on Monday.

Simmons, a 1999 Nationals vault qualifier, led the team for the 1999 season on the balance beam with a 9.723 average. Simmons had a career night vs. Auburn on Mar. 12, 1999, when she won the all-around with a 39.275 total. Simmons also took first place in vault, while recording her first 10.0 from a judge en route to a 9.975 finish.

Head Coach Leah Little and Simmons will make a decision regarding a medical redshirt within the coming weeks.
