LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky Track and Field team is splitting up for a pairof meets Jan. 28 – 30. Beginning Friday and continuing through Saturday, aportion of the squad will be competing at the Air Force Invitational inColorado Springs, Co., while the remaining members of the team head toBoston for the Boston University Terrier Classic on Jan. 29 – 30.
In Boston, UK will compete in a number of the running events against someof the top teams in the country including Stanford, UCLA, Villanova andTulane. The field events will compete in Colorado to face competition fromBYU, Texas and Wyoming.
Heading into the fourth meet of the indoor season, senior Matt Kavanaghhopes to improve on his NCAA provisional qualifying 35-pound weight throwof 65-02.00. Junior Shevan Threats takes the track this week after settingher personal best in the long jump with a leap of 19-06.75 last Friday inLexington.
