LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s basketball team travels to Fayetteville, Ark., on Sunday, Feb. 6 to take on Arkansas at 3 p.m. ET in Bud Walton Arena. WLXG Sports Radio 1300 will provide the broadcast.

The Cats (11-9, 3-5 Southeastern Conference) look to snap a four-game losing streak after dropping to No. 4 Tennessee in Knoxville on Sunday. UK’s last win was against the Lady Razorbacks in Lexington 68-60 on January 16. UK had not beaten Arkansas in four tries, since a 69-65 win in 1996. The Cats have never won in Fayetteville despite a valiant effort last season. UK lost in overtime 74-69 in Bud Walton Arena.

“It’s tough to play any team on the road in this conference,” UK Coach Bernadette Mattox said. “We’ve had a solid week of practice trying to work on some things and we are still a great basketball team. Arkansas has won its last four games at home and they will come out confident on Sunday. We just need to make sure we come out and control the tempo from the start.”

Arkansas (13-7, 3-4 SEC) is riding a four-game win streak after defeating Alabama on Thursday 66-62. Wendi Willits leads the Lady Backs in scoring, averaging 15.9 points per game. She also ranks first in the SEC in three-point field goals made with 53.

In the team’s last meeting, Kentucky held Willits to a season-low four points and zero three-pointers. Wildcat senior Tiffany Wait, a native of Hot Springs, Ark., lit up the nets against her home-state team, scoring a team-high 24 points. Senior center Shantia Owens followed with a season-high double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds.

The all-time series versus Arkansas is tied at 6-6. UK is 0-4 when playing Fayetteville and 1-3 versus SEC teams on the road this season.
