LEXINGTON, Kty. – The University of Kentucky men’s golf team took a sixth place finish at the 2000 Silver Spring Shores Invitational Golf Tournament in Ocala, Fla. this weekend. The Cats were led by senior Ron Layman, who shot a three day total of 215 en route to a tie for ninth place overall.
Kent continued its strong run in the final day of competition to finish with a 856, two strokes ahead of Indiana. Methodist’s Chad Collins won the individuals after a play-off with Colorado State’s Nigel Spence. Collins finished with a 10-under-par 206 in the tournament.
The Cats are back in action on Monday, March 20 when they return to Ocala, Fla. to compete in the El Diablo Invitational.
