The Kentucky men’s basketball team delivered packed lunches as a part of the UK Athletics-God’s Pantry “Back Pack” community service program on Friday to three different Lexington Elementary schools, including this featured stop at Picadome Elementary School. In addition to delivering the lunches at Picadome, the Wildcats participated in relay races with the students and participated in their “PRIDE” week.
UK Athletics is partnering with God’s Pantry of Lexington for a seventh consecutive year to help pack and distribute food-filled grocery bags to underprivileged youth in Fayette County. Each team and staff at UK Athletics participates in the outreach program. UK Athletics packs 150 bags each week (50 bags per school) and will pack and deliver 5,100 lunches for the entire 2016-17 school year.
The Kentucky men’s basketball team packed the lunches on Wednesday and delivered them to Cassidy, Lansdowne and Picadome elementary schools throughout the day Friday.
