AUSTIN, Texas (April 8, 2000) — The University of Kentucky trackand field squad finished competition at the TexasRelays with two events on Saturday, April 8.
Giving Kentucky its highest finish of the day, juniorAndrew VanderWagen claimed fourth place in thehigh jump (section B). VanderWagen’s leap of 6-10.75surpassed by one inch his outdoor seasonal high,which he accomplished at the Hurricane Classic inMarch.
In the women’s triple jump (section A), junior ShevanThreats finished in the eight spot with a jump of40-02.75, giving Kentucky another top-10 finish.
On Friday night, the dynamic 800-meter quintet ofsenior Jeff Limpert and freshmen Chad Johnson,Hunter Spencer, and Thomas Morgan, tried theirhands at the distance medley relay. Their time of9:59.05 was good enough for ninth place againststrong teams such as Texas A&M and Arkansas.
The Cats return to the track when they visit theUniversity of Tennessee for the Sea Ray Relays inKnoxville, April 13-15.
