LEXINGTON, Kty. – The Lady Kat golf team has been selected to compete in the East Regional of the 2000 NCAA Tournament. The regional will be held at the Scarlet Golf Course in Columbus, Ohio on May 11-13.

Kentucky was one of eight teams selected from the Mid-Atlantic/East District, one of the four districts in the East Region. Also chosen from the district were Duke, Wake Forest, Tennessee, North Carolina, Campbell, Vanderbilt and Penn State.

A total of 10 SEC schools were picked for regional competition. LSU, Georgia, Auburn, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Florida, Arkansas will also compete in the East Regional.

The NCAA Women’s Golf Championships will be held at Oregon State on May 24-27. Eleven teams and three individuals from each region will advance to the Championships, along with two teams from the region with the most teams ranked in the top 24.
