The UK men’s soccer team fought Cincinnati to a 1-1 tie after two overtimesWednesday night at the UK Soccer Complex.
Playing their fourth game in eight days, UK gave up a goal nineteen minutesinto the game, but tied the score 30 minutes later when Wildcat RickDengelegi’s shot was deflected into the goal by a Cincinnati player.
Both teams failed to score the remainder of the game, despite 15 shots forUK and 11 for the Bearcats.
The Wildcats were called for 24 fouls in the game, while Cincinnati garnered19. Eight yellow cards were also issued.
UK head coach Ian Collins said his team was continuing a trend of creatingopportunities, but not capatalizing on them.
“It’s disappointing missing so many chances,” he said. “We’ll just have tokeep our noses to the grindstone to break out of it.”
With the tie, Kentucky’s record moves to 3-1-1, while Cincinnati is 3-0-1.
The Wildcats travel to Louisville on Sunday to face the Cardinals at 3:00p.m.
