LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky gave up two second-half goals, falling to25th-ranked Michigan, 2-0, in the Kentucky Invitational SoccerTournament. Michigan’s Amber Berendowski scored what would prove tobe the game-winner in the 55th minute, shooting past UK goalkeeper CarrieKuhnell to give the Wolverines a 1-0 lead.

Berendowski assisted on Michigan’s second goal, feeding Jessica Limaurowho finished a one-on-one situation just two minutes later. “We’redisappointed with the loss,” Kentucky head coach Warren Lipka said.

“We just have to get back out on the practice field and correct ourmistakes.”

Michigan increases their record to 2-0, while Kentucky falls to 0-2 on theyoung season.

Kentucky appeared to take an early lead as midfielder Ali Rooney’sapparent goal was disallowed due to an offsides call in the eighth minute ofplay.

Kentucky returns to action this weekend as they travel to Madison, Wis. fora Friday match-up against the 10th-ranked Lady Badgers. UK also takes onMarquette on Sunday as part of the Wisconsin Soccer Invitational.
