LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky women’s tennis team is set to hit the road west to Kansas for matches against Wichita State on Friday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. ET and Kansas State on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. ET.

After two victories on Saturday in a doubleheader against EKU, the Wildcats hope to bring their winning momentum on the road. The victories were highlighted by the play of junior Ellie Myers and sophomore Julia Zhu, who ranks No. 54 in the ITA singles rankings. The Wildcats, now 5-1, split their last weekend road trip and look to better their away record this time around.

Friday’s match against Wichita State will be a great battle for Kentucky. In singles, the Shockers have the No. 89 ranked singles player in Xin Tong Wang. In the second road matchup, Kansas State’s pair of No. 70 Veronika Kulhava and Tereza Polakova and No. 81 Maralgoo Chogsomjav and Maria Santos will be a test for the doubles point.

A key factor for the Wildcats will be to lean on the success of fifth-year Lizzy Stevens’ dominant play and undefeated record, a combined 9-0, in both singles and doubles, so far. The veteran looks to continue against both Wichita State and Kansas State to keep contributing to the teams strong start to the season.
