(Sept. 28, 2000) — The 12th-ranked University of Kentucky women’s soccer team will travel to face the Alabama Crimson Tide at the Alabama Soccer Complex on September 29 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on Fox Sports South, the Sunshine Network, and Fox Sports Southeast.

The series between the teams is knotted at 2-2 and the Crimson Tide won the last meeting between the teams, 1-0, in 1998.

Kentucky (8-1, 1-0 SEC) is coming off a shutout of Evansville, 3-0. The win improved the team’s win streak to six and was the fourth shutout in eight games for the Cats.

The Wildcats have taken 196 shots so far this season, while the combination of a lethal defense and goalkeeper Beth Wells have limited their opponents to a minuscule 52 shots and only six goals. Wells’ goals against average is just 0.66 as she has recorded 20 saves.

Alabama (4-6) finished the 1999 season 6-14 overall, 3-6 in the SEC and third in the Western Division. The squad is led by seniors Tiffany Carle and Melissa McGee, and junior Danielle Watson.
