Women's Soccer

The 10th-ranked University of Kentucky women’s soccer team will play host to South Carolina on Sunday, Oct. 8, at 1 p.m. at the UK Soccer Complex. Kentucky is undefeated in games against the Gamecocks, 5-0, and defeated South Carolina 2-1 in overtime in 1999.

Kentucky (10-2, 3-1 SEC) is coming off a loss to Southeastern Conference foe Florida, 5-3, Friday, Oct. 6. Scoring in the game were Annie Gage, Jen Reese, and Elizabeth Ramsey. Ramsey needs just four more assists to tie career assist leader Gage, with 22. Reese is fifth on Kentucky’s all-time list for games started (76). Leading the Wildcats in points are Gage and Keri Boyce, with 22, while Boyce also leads in shots (53) and goals (8).

South Carolina (4-9, 0-3 SEC) is led by senior Charlotte Moore and juniors Melinda Carter and Morgan McIntyre. The Gamecocks were shutout 8-0 by Vanderbilt in their third straight loss on Friday, Oct. 6.
