The University of Kentucky men’s golf team stands in 15th place at the 2000 Gary Koch/Cleveland Golf Intercollegiate in Tampa, Fla., on Monday, Oct. 16. After two rounds at Old Memorial Golf Course the Cats totaled 609, 36 shots behind leading Florida.
Leading the way for the Wildcats is junior John Beckett. Beckett’s 5-over par 149 moves him in to 37th-place, just nine shots off Florida’s Camilo Villegas, who tops the leader board with a 36-hole total of 140. Other UK scores include senior Pat Kelly with a 151, senior Wes Furnish with a 152, sophomore Andy Dustman with a 157 and freshman Matt Wells with a 162.
The tournament resumes on Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. when each of the 15 teams will play the final 18 holes.
