Winston Salem, N.C. – The University of Kentucky women’s tennis doubles team of Brooke Skeen and Lauren Rookledge fell in the finals of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southeast Regional Championship on Monday, Nov. 6, on the campus of Wake Forest University.
Skeen, a senior from Elon College, N.C., and Rookledge, a junior from Cape Town, South Africa, were defeated in three sets by Amanda Johnson and Megan Miller of Duke 2-6, 6-0, 6-2.
This is the first time the pair has teamed together. The duo finished the tournament with a 4-1 record, including a win over the nation’s 9th-ranked team of Alison Ojeda and Vilmarie Castellvi of Tennessee in the semifinals.
The Cats will return to action in January when they travel to Athens, Ga., to compete in the University of Georgia Invitational Tournament.
