(Jan. 31, 2001) — Three members of the University of Kentucky swimming and diving teams were inducted into the Frank G. Ham Society of Character for the fall of 2000. Jaime Siegele, Tracy Sullivan, and Aaron Kirkpatrick were the fall inductees for swimming and diving. A ceremony recognizing these student-athletes was held at halftime of the Kentucky-Vanderbilt men’s basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 27.
The award recognizes student-athletes who give their best to everything they do and those honored are chosen on the basis of five criteria. These criteria are: commitment to academic excellence, commitment to athletic participation, commitment to personal development, commitment to being a role-model, and commitment to preparing for the world of work. Coaches, counselors, trainers or managers can nominate those they feel would deserve recognition.
Past swimming and diving honorees include Jennifer Priester, Brett Palmer, and Taryn Kannegeisser, all in 2000.
