SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Sophomore Jack Morgan won the men’s 1,000-meter run at the Meyo Invitational Track and Field Meet at Notre Dame to lead the way for the University of Kentucky on Saturday, February 3.

Freshman Caity Phillips gave UK its second-best finish of the meet with a sixth-place finish in the women’s mile with a personal-best time of 4:55.97, shaving nearly three seconds off her previous best.

In the men’s 800 meters, sophomore Hunter Spencer led the way for the Cats’ talented group of middle-distance runners. His time of 1:52.29 was good for eighth, while sophomore Patton Segraves claimed 10th in a personal-best time of 1:53.18.

In the men’s mile, sophomore Thomas Morgan also notched a personal-best with his ninth-place time of 4:08.54, four seconds off his previous best.

The Cats return to action when they travel to the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa, on Friday, Feb. 9-Saturday, Feb. 10.
