University of Kentucky women’s soccer player Keri Boyce was named Academic All-District IV, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced. She was named second team, joining a gymnast, as Kentucky tied for the most selections with two.
Boyce is a sophomore on the soccer team with a major in marketing. This is her first academic award, though she was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in the last spring. The 1999 Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year was named as a third-team Great Lakes Region All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America this season, as well as Soccer Buzz All-Great Lakes Region second team. She has also been named SEC Player of the Week and to SoccerAmerica’s Team of the Week three times.
In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve and have a GPA of 3.20 or higher.
