Former Wildcat Named to All-Canadian Collegiate Team

Former Kentucky infielder Emilien Pitre was named to the Canadian Baseball Network’s First-Team All-Canadian team, it was announced. The CBN is regarded as the premier source of information on Canadian college players.

Pitre, from the Montreal area (Repentigny, Quebec), was named the top second Canadian second baseman. Pitre batted .301 in 62 games with 72 hits, 31 extra-base hits and 58 RBI with 47 walks and 26 stolen bases with a .992 fielding percentage. He owned a .939 OPS.

Pitre helped lead Kentucky to its first College World Series in school history in 2024 and a Southeastern Conference championship. He was a Third-Team All-American by a pair of publications, was a member of the All-SEC Defensive Team and an Academic All-American. He had 23 multi-hit and 16 multi-RBI games with 24 two-out RBI.

The Cats are entering their ninth season under head coach Nick Mingione and have won 262 games during his tenure, including last season’s school-record 46-win campaign that featured a SEC regular season championship and Mingione’s second National Coach of the Year honor in seven full seasons at the helm.
