Birmingham, Ala. – In wake of the tragic events of last week, the Southeastern Conference has announced that the conference’s football championship game will be rescheduled for Dec. 8 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. The SEC Championship Game was originally scheduled to be played on Dec. 1. Kickoff time will be announced at a later date.

The conference games originally scheduled for Sept. 15 will now be played on Dec. 1. The list includes Vanderbilt at Ole Miss, Tennessee at Florida and Auburn at LSU. All non-conference games that were scheduled for Sept. 15 will be rescheduled by the participating institutions.

The SEC also announces that all of its football games scheduled for this weekend will take place as scheduled. The list of games includes South Carolina at Mississippi State on Thursday and Florida at Kentucky, Arkansas at Alabama, Richmond at Vanderbilt and Auburn at Syracuse on Saturday.

Participation in all other sports competition will be left to the discretion of each institution.

If required by changing events or circumstances in the aftermath of this national tragedy, adjustments could be made to this schedule.
