TRADITIONAL BANK INVITATIONAL CONTINUES AT UK SOCCER COMPLEX

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Traditional Bank Invitational hosted by the University of Kentucky women’s soccer team will conclude on Sunday, Sept. 30 at the UK Soccer Complex. Furman (6-2-0) will face Arizona State (5-2-0) in the first game at 11 a.m., followed by New Mexico (0-6-1) and Kentucky (7-1-0) at 1 p.m.

In Friday’s action, Furman delivered New Mexico its sixth-straight loss, as the Lady Paladins capitalized off three second half goals to down the Lobos 4-2. In the nightcap, Arizona State handed Kentucky its first defeat of the season, shutting out the Cats 2-0 in front of 887 fans. It was a night of missed opportunities for the Wildcats, currently ranked as high as 10th nationally by Soccerbuzz Magazine, as they outshot the Sun Devils 19 to 6. ASU goalie Kristin Slater garnered 11 saves, while sophomore midfielder Jen Wilkinson led UK with five shots on goal.

Following Sunday’s action, the Wildcats will begin an eight-game Southeastern Conference swing, playing at South Carolina on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. and at defending SEC champion Florida on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. Complete game stories and box scores can be found at ukathletics.com following each game.
