LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky men’s and women’s cross country teams will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 13, when they travel to Greenville, S.C., to compete in the Furman Invitational, an NCAA Pre-Meet. The women’s 6k run begins at 11:20 a.m., while the men’s 8k competition will begin at 12:35 p.m.
Both teams are coming off strong performances at the Louisville Cardinal Invitational on Oct. 6. The women tied Louisville for first place in the event with 50 points, as sophomore Caity Phillips led the Wildcats in second place with a time of 18:11.80.
The men took a dominating win with 26 points to second-place Morehead State’s 53 points. UK placed three runners in the top five, including Hunter Spencer, who won the 8k race with a time of 24:42.40.
