The University of Kentucky women’s golf team ended its run in the Alabama Capstone Intercollegiate in fifth place. The squad finished with a team score of 975 and tallied its best finish of the fall season.

Senior Towa Okiyama led the Lady Kats with her three-day total of 238. The 22-over par performance was good enough for Okiyama to finish in ninth place and grab her first Top 10 finish of the year. Junior Kelly Anders also has an exceptional tournament with her 25th place finish. Other UK finishes included Kristen Pepe in 29th, Eva Gessner in 32nd, and Rachel Lester in 43rd.

The Lady Kats will conclude their fall seasonon on Nov. 6-8 when they travel to Southern Pines, N.C., to compete in the Pine Needles Women’s Collegiate.
