The golf program at the University of Kentucky enters its second season at the University Club of Kentucky. The University Club is a members-only club privately licensed by UK. The course is the official home of the men’s and women’s golf teams and will host all of the University of Kentucky’s tournaments.
Internationally renowned golf course architect Arthur Hills designed the renovations to the 36-hole Championship course. Each 18-hole course is approximately 7,000 yards in length and stretches across 300 acres of rolling terrain. A dozen lakes and ponds complement the scenic courses.

“This club is a great asset for the University of Kentucky,” Director of Golf Operations Bettie Lou Evans said. “Having a facility like this to call our own should make a tremendous difference. The University Club will boost recruiting and allow us more practice time. Plus, we plan to expand with an indoor facility. All these things will give our golfers great opportunities to succeed.”
University Clubs are currently in place at other Southeastern Conference schools such as South Carolina, Auburn and Alabama. However, this club boasts many special features that makes it one of the premier University Clubs in the nation. Accompanying the beauty of the course is two state-of-the-art practice facilities for UK’s men and women’s golf teams. The club house includes a grille, locker rooms and a fully stocked pro shop.
The “U-Club” will be the venue of the 2003 Women’s Southeastern Conference Championship and other significant events. The clubhouse is filled with UK memorabilia and contains private meeting rooms that will serve as host to a variety of University, related conferences, events and meetings.
