The University of Kentucky women’s golf team shot a team score of 306 in the second round of the Franklin Street Trust Tar Heel Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C. Kentucky stands in 11th-place with a total score of 609 after 36-holes. Duke University remains in first place with a two round score of one-over-par 577.
Leading UK in 17th-place is senior Kelly Anders with a two round total of four-over-par 148 after shooting a 75 in the second round. Sophomore Lauren George also tallied a three-over-par 75 while senior Rachel Lester and sophomore Stacy Springer shot a 78. Junior Eva Gessner finished the second round with an 81.
Action for the third and final round of the tournament begins with a 9:30 a.m. shot gun start on Sunday, Oct. 6.
