Wildcats in the Pros -- Nov. 8

Each week, Wildcats in the Pros catches up with some former Kentucky student-athletes who are doing big things in professional athletics. 

Randall Cobb was up to his old tricks on Sunday. The former Wildcat caught his third touchdown pass of the season against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. However, it Cobb’s effort was not enough as his Packers lost 31-26. 

The Tennessee Titans continue to be led by a pair of former Kentucky linebackers. On Sunday against the San Diego Chargers, Avery Williamson had eight tackles for the Titans, while Wesley Woodyard added four tackles of his own. 

The Los Angeles Lakers faced the Phoenix Suns on Sunday, and the game turned into a showcase for a pair of former Wildcats. For the Lakers, Julius Randle continued his strong play in the early season, notching 18 points, five rebounds, four assists and one steal. 

But another former Wildcat had an even bigger night. Devin Booker had an even bigger scoring night Sunday, recording 39 points while adding seven assists. But Randle got the last laugh as the Lakers won, 119-108. 

The New Orleans Pelicans are off to an extremely slow start to the season, but former Wildcat Anthony Davis continues to shine. Davis is averaging 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game, but the Pelicans are 0-7 to start the season.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are also off to a slow start, but Karl-Anthony Towns has done more than his part. Towns is averaging 22.4 points and eight rebounds per game for the 1-4 Timberwolves.

Former Wildcat DeMarcus Cousins and his Sacramento Kings are off to a 3-5 start to the season. Cousins has continued the momentum he gained this summer by winning a gold medal with the United States Olympic Team as the 2016-17 NBA season has gotten underway. Cousins is averaging 25.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and one block per game for the Kings this season.
