Abney, Pinner Get Mid-Season Props from The Southeastern Post: Wide receiver/kick returner Derek Abney and running back Artose Pinner have received two of the six SEC mid-season awards given by The Southeastern Post magazine.

Abney was chosen as the league’s Best Special Teams Player. He is averaging 25.2 yards per kickoff return and 16 yards on punt returns. He has returned three kicks for touchdowns, two punts and a kickoff. He has earned the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week Award twice this season and is the only player in the nation among the NCAA top 20 in both punt returns and kickoff returns.

Pinner was tabbed as the SEC’s Most Improved Player. He is the league’s leading rusher with 111.6 yards per game and also ranks among the league’s top 10 in pass receptions. Pinner has 1,108 yards from scrimmage this season, 892 rushing yards and 216 receiving yards.

Cats to Wear Blue-White-Blue: In Saturday’s game at Mississippi State, the Cats will chase the Dogs while wearing blue helmets, white jerseys, and blue pants.

Family Four-Pack Available for LSU and Vanderbilt Games: UK Athletics is offering a special “Family Four-Pack” of tickets for the LSU game on Nov. 9 and the Vanderbilt game on Nov. 16.

For those games, fans may purchase four tickets for $60, a savings of $28 versus the normal ticket price. A free parking pass also is available for the Vanderbilt four-packs. The supply of free parking passes for the LSU four-packs has been exhausted.

Mississippi State Game to be on Live Pay-Per-View and Delayed on the UKTV Network: With no live network telecast of the Kentucky at Mississippi State game on Nov. 2, Host Communications will have a live pay-per-view and delayed telecast of the game.

Host Communications is offering the pay-per-view to every cable system in Kentucky. Fans should contact their local cable company for the price and other details.

Fans also can see the game on a delayed basis on the UKTV Network that night at 11:35 p.m. EST.

MSU Game Also Available on Dish Network, ESPN GamePlan: In addition to the live pay-per-view and UKTV Network delay telecast of UK at Mississippi State, the game will be available on Dish Network and ESPN GamePlan.

Subscribers to the Dish Network can order on channel 456. The game is not available on DirectTV. The game is available on ESPN GamePlan outside Kentucky. The game will not be available on ESPN GamePlan inside Kentucky.
